I love both of these shots, they were spontaneous and I am trying to decide if the I can live with the blown background. I processed these a bit with the intention of giving it an aged photo feel. Oh, btw, this was the first time I had met my great niece and the first time I had seen my niece since she had been 9 mo's old (she is 23 now). It was a very exciting day. c&c is welcome especially since I don't usually shoot people. Thanks!!

Adorable. I especially love the first one. Lovely processing too. I don't think the blown background is a problem at all on the first one- especially since the bokeh is nice and soft. Maybe on the second one I'd darken the blown-out bit on the right hand side; purely because, being so bright, my eye was drawn to it before it was drawn to the subject.

She is really cute. Did you crop the first one. For me, it should have more room on the right than on the left.

Thanks Nelly! I will have to figure out how to isolate the blown area darken it. I am not very good at post processing.

TFS, yeah, I did crop the first one because you can see the shirt of my fiance who was holding her. Here is the uncropped version.

I really like the second shot. Composed very nicely and the blow-outs don't really bug me much. Cute baby, and good shots!
