This is a draft picture from todays shooting for one of our magazine here (it will be the cover for magazine that will be available in February in many cities here in Russia). Sorry for "DEMO" - it is here because of model agency and all other legal stuff. It was my first shooting with 7D after i purchased it as 50d replacement (dont ask me why i use crop and not full-frame). We held session in Turkish bath in one of spa-salon so you can assume how bad this room was lit. But camera locked focus very good, though sometime slow because of low-contrast of model's dress. But it was reliable, sharpness is awesome and even better in ACR than in DPP. No sharpening (only by default in ACR), no photoshoping. Left picture is 100 % сrop.
P.S. JPEG comression limits for this forum somehow affect overall impression.

That's a situation when the extra reach from the crop factor can be useful, but I would have liked a longer lens !!!

Wow...I'm glad the magazine likes it. That background simply kills this image for me. Not criticizing your work, or that of the camera. Looks fine. But the BG is terrible. :)

I just got back from my trip down to Orlando the other day, where I was able to finally test out the 7D. Took close to 900 photos total, and overall, very happy with this camera. I found I need to put +1/3EV to +2/3EV because the camera likes to underexpose (which leads to some additional noise), but once dialed in, it's great. I generally just leave it at 1/3 or 2/3 and rarely have to change it.

I found the AF system to be stellar... The focus seems to be spot on if I use the right AF mode for what I am shooting. Love the AF...

The IQ is better then my XSI/T1i I had, for sure. It does show some more noise at lower ISO (200-800), but it cleans up very easily and really, is not a big deal... Very awesome 1600-6400 ISO performance. But the crop-ability outweighs the slightly higher low ISO noise, to me, between the 7D and the 450/500D I have had previously. The 7D is just very sensitive to underexposure and noise.

Here are some shots from my trip... Stopped at Sea World and Busch Gardens Tampa a few times, along with local zoo, beach, etc...

Thanks! Love how sharp my images are with the 70-200 and 7D combo... They all look just so, so good :D

And it was feeding time for the tigers (this was at busch gardens btw). The trainer was on the bridge where I was taking these from, and all the tigers were meowing/purring/growling whatever they do, for a piece of meat! It was cute :p

Photography is about GEAR and not talent or practice. Practice won't make you a better photographer. Expensive equipment will. =D

Just an example of how useable ISO 6400 is...

Straight out of the camera.
