I am still working on the technique of cleaning up 6400 and 12800, and I think I have some pretty good steps identified at this time, but it involves working on each color channel independently. The backyard shot is very nice.....great colors. JBF

Half the race, I was shooting at text on tents and the tire barriers trying to get the lens calibrated. I felt disgusted with myself for not using the lens align the day before and gave up calibrating after a while. I also spent some time cursing myself for not practicing with the 100-400. Those guys that hand hold it and make it look easy are something special, I tell you. Earlier during the day I drank a nice 24oz beer once I heard that the money goes to a charity. Don't know if that affected the performance any. Doubt it. The ones I have posted below are some of the best I managed to get. silvex wrote in post #8790764 Good luck at the races...it is the last of the American Le Mans and the last one for De Ferran. I was going to go, but other things came up. Are you media or just fan. No media, just a fan. Skipped work today to get there for the qualifiers and to watch the 91 NSX practice for the SCCA GTs. Was nice to see the NSX walk away from the porsches. The 66 Acura in White livery was very cool looking. All white with gray sponsor logos and black rims. Very sweet! Vamsi

All examples with center zone AF (with Tracking priority and AF/Tracking for first/second shots) Another one with even closer subjects. The AF is a lifesaver on this camera. Operationally it worked in a very intuitive fashion. I really like this camera! Vamsi

There's noise @ iso 3200 with weak incandescent lighting, true "low-light" scenario! (But my standards are perhaps much lower than most and I am actually quite happy with my 7D and its high ISO images.)

As has been said before the IS in this lens is pretty much silent and as it's a shorter focal length the IS doesn't seem so obvious in use as it would on a 70-200L or a 100-400L or even the 24-105L all of which I have owned in the past. 100% crop Canon EOS 5DMkII, Canon EOS 10D, Canon EF17-40L, Canon EF24L TS-E MkII, Canon 24-105L IS, Canon 70-200L f4 IS, Canon EF 1.4x Extender MkII. You had some seriously good seats for this game. Were you in a 'press pit' or just great bod seats? Exif is lost, what lens? Buddy4344

I still have my sights on the 5d2, but if the 7D can produce images as good as the 5d2 with regards some subject options above i may change my mind? There are many links to other types of shots from other forums in the threads on this board, like weddings, etc. Also, you can find people leaving the MKIII and 5D/5DII to downsize a bit, and the 7D has been sufficient for them.
