What was wrong with your first 7D??

Is that kit lens worth buying? It comes for an extra $180.

My first one had an ERR 20 canno continue to shoot issue! The miror used to o mad, continuing to flip up\own after the shutter had taken the shot.

The 18-55 I have is from the 500d kit I bought. To be honest I haven't really got on with it and I tend to use the 50mm 1.8 all the time. I have a 17-50 f2.8 Tamron on order...

I wouldn't even bother matching the 7d with the Rebel's kit. that lens is pretty sharp for the money but still a bit soft nonetheless. the high pixel count of the sensor makes the lens' flaws more proheminent. I'm getting sharp pictures with it but still... I only have a 10mp sensor and I had to make long exposure shots.

I'd go with the 15-85 or 17-55 in a heartbeat. sure they cost 1K$ but if you bought the 7d at start, you're not really on a budget :P

kinda like buying a big nice 60in. plasma, watching SD content from local cable.

My compliments on these two shots. I didn't do near as well there (I used to live in the area) with my 50D, although my results were acceptable. Did you use a tripod?

Just curious -- did you clear taking photos with security first? They were very touchy about that two years ago, but fortunately I had gotten permission in advance.

Thanks, I took these hand-held with 24-105L with IS on. I was on my knees for one of the pictures. Security walked by me and didn't say anything. Tripods are not allowed hence reason for f/4 aperture. I was on way baggage claim and decided to take these pictures. Glad I had my camera with me since terminal was pretty empty.

Great lighting there! That's a tough shot to pull off and you nailed it!

Hello, everyone
My name is Peter, and it's my first post here.
I got my 7d around week ago and I am very happy with it even though I am still learning it.

Here's a sample.

Agreed!

BTW, Ansel Adams did not say "f/8 And Be There."

There's no clear cut answer but it was either Weegee (Arthur Fellig) or Allen Hopkins... ;)

Adams would have at least been at f/22 if not smaller. He was, after all, a member of the f/64 Society!

F8 and be there is an old news photographer saying. I suspect it does go back to Weegee, who had a way with succinctness.

Canons to the left, Canons to the right,
We hold our L glass toward the light,
Digitizing in a snap reflective glory
That will forever tell our imaged story.
