btw guys and gals what do you have your 7D settings at? Such as sharpening, contrast, do you leave that alone or have you all dialed it in?

Everything in the middle except sharpness at +1 I think, just to compensate for my not-so-sharp lens lineup.

First of all, this page has some outstanding shots indeed!

Just testing my Sigma 150-500 OS AF after adjustment at Sigma. Looks very good.

Indoor, so I used ISO 12800, cleaned up in DPP and Photoshop NR. I like how much detail the 7D preserves even at high ISOs. And the more detail and 18mp resolution allows us to go more aggressive with NR too.

Canon seem to have gone against received wisdom in getting such high performance with an 18mp APS-C sensor. What have they done? This looks like becoming the death knell for Nikon's lead in low light performance.

The pixel density on the 7d is MUCH higher than on the 5D2 (see my calculations in the 1D4 thread). Does the 5D2 significantly out-perform the 7D in low light?

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.
