Just took some Panda pics today. 24-105 is perfect for Zoo.

Noise at low ISO will not occur if you slightly over expose image. slightly under exposed will add noise. bump ISO up or lower shutter speed.

awesome DC shot. What f stop were you using?

Totally agree ... I've got the same combination ... great results overall indeed.

QUOTED IMAGE

very nice. What f-stop? I've only had time to check the lcd so far, but it seems that anything over f8 loses quality for me fast....again, haven't had a chance to check on anything but the lcd.

Here's a sample of the cropability. This was with a 24-105 at the zoo.

Original resized of course

f/22 with 24-105 @ 105MM

Here is Tai Shan at National Zoo today. Tai Shan is going to China next week via FedEx

I love 18MP since it allows for crops with great quality.

^-Nice shots!

Agreed, I love how the 7D has cropability plus has a lot of dynamic range, All of these required exposure tweaking (Since im still adjusting to how the meter thinks I was letting it do its own thing so i know how it "thinks"...its consistent at least unlike my 30D..) and they were all done at ISO800, The majority had to be pushed about +2/3 in lightroom which only exacerbated the noise..

The nonexistent noise that is...

My only comment is i THINK my 100-400 needs a microadjust, it seems to consistently focus on her chest and not her face...More an issue in some pics than other...

I have noticed you need to overexpose a bit to get rid of some noise.

Long-time listener, first-time...you know. :)

This is from a trip we took with my wife's family to Europe over Christmas.

My very first shots, and I need to fully understand all the focussing settings before my next venture out :-)
