First real test of the AF in servo mode for me. I've got an idea about which of the focusing modes work best for this sort of stuff now and I fully expect the 7D to walk all over the 40D and 1Ds

First shot: 1/1000 @ 2.8, 200mm, 100iso
Second shot: 1/2000 @ 2.8, 155mm, 100iso

I'd not really played with the AF settings and started off using 19 point auto in servo with mixed results. The riders were often slightly OOF as I was shooting at 2.8 and the camera had focused on the front fender. The camera was still tracking well, just not focusing where I wanted it to.

I swapped it for manual AF point expansion and it went great guns

I finally got out to take something other than sports. I went to a local lake and took a few shots. These are the two that came out the best.

I had no intention of shooting birds when I went to my back door with the 85mm f/1.8 attached to my 7D today, I just meant to take a few shots of the snow to send to my family and friend. Sitting on the railing four feet away was this female cardinal. Shot through double paned glass, f/2.5, 1/30, ISO 200.
