CIF (crow-in-flight) shot (100% crop). I was checking the microadjustment on my Sigma 70-300 lens when this guy decided to fly by, so he became a target of opportunity. :)

That's awesome! I wanna go snow-karting! I used to race Rotax, that was a treat in the rain, I can't imagine what snow/ice would be like.

talking about snow, what's the "norm" for a no-go outside with a camera as far as temperatures go?

went skating at -25 degrees C yesterday and I felt that my XS couldn't cope with it. It acted quite weird.

I've done some shooting in -20°C and below with the 7D and had no problems other than being fricken cold myself.

I'm not sure but I am sure the camera can take temps a lot lower than my body, that's why the two birds I posted were shot through a window. ;)

I seem to remember seeing a blog about a guy taking shots with a 7D in the Arctic Circle at -45 I think. The pics were funny as the camera looked more white than black. He had some hints about condensation etc but cannot remember exactly what and as I hate any minus figure I don't intend to try this myself.
