There are many links to other types of shots from other forums in the threads on this board, like weddings, etc. Also, you can find people leaving the MKIII and 5D/5DII to downsize a bit, and the 7D has been sufficient for them.

Here a couple of shots where my 1 year old decided to take me on during a pool tournament. She was all geared up to go early, but she really can't hold her liquor!

Yes i have noticed a few people are giving up the FF for this 7D, i wonder though if people are too hasty without seeing some more results, after all you can't really test a RAW file in photoshop just yet, i think only then that we'll see just how good or close the small sensor is too a full frame sensor with regards to quality??

Took this shot today.

What a fabulous clear image, a pity about the wire though, but hey, if this is a test shot to show quality then it sure does do a good job.

I hope this worked better
Is there a way to resize these and convert my raw images to JPEG in Lightroom 2? I had to use DPP to convert and GIMP to resize

Saxi wrote in post #8800105 (external link)
Yeah just export it defaults to JPG. There is an option to keep long side a certain size, I set it to 1024. With the 7D you are below 20% quality to get it down to 150KB, I started just converting to 80% and host it on TinyPic cause the quality is so bad at 15-18%.

If you download the Mogrify plugin for Lightroom (external link)it will give you a host of options for outputting jpegs. I usually use this to export web images at 1024px and limited to 250kb (and to add borders and watermarks). These I upload to my flickr or imageshack account and then paste the code here.

Just bought the 7D yesterday (Saturday), read through the manual and thought I had the correct settings. Overall I'm pretty pleased with the results, probably need to understand the AF points in more detail though.

I'm coming from a Rebel to a 7D, so I have a big learning curve. I'm also just starting a photography class that will (hopefully) help with exposure knowledge. So, take these with a grain of salt. The fact that they are so good with such a poor operator is thrilling.

Oh I didn't know mogrify did the limit file size, I'll have to check that out.

My good, bad, and ugly 7D pics.

I am new to the DSLR's. Just returned my 3 week old 50d for the 7D. These pics are straight out of the camera in JPEG. Pics were taken at the zoo and my nephews football game. For those of you wanting to see the pics, I did not obviously select only the good ones to upload. Many are OOF, had some trouble but did manage to get some good pics. I think about 7 at the zoo are what I would call keepers. Love the camera, just need some major practice. Will be taking some classes shortly.
