Love the eye sharpness and the color. Know what you mean about the shutter scaring off wildlife. I had to turned off the beaming sound when I touched the shutter release myself.

Here are two photos from this weekend. Used my EF 500 mm. f/4.0 IS and 550 flash with Better Beamer. Love this camera...

Your animalshots look much better, especially the second one is very sharp. That 500mm must be a good one to shoot with but i don't wanna know what it costs..

I posted my air show photos a few pages back! And I plan to post some more early October when I attend the next one down in San Diego/Miramar. Time to give my new 100-400 a work out.

I will scroll back and check the images you posted, if i missed them i apologize.
What you could do meanwhile is go to a spotters place near the airfield, they usually have such places built in a good location. Check with your airports to see if they have it and if so where. From there you can take as many pics as you want without getting in trouble with airport security.

The 100-400 should give you lots of great images. I'm envious

It looks pretty dangerous to stand there balancing on a wing while flying at high speed through the air, it's not something i would like to try..
