i put it on enable but it only blinks red when it achieves focus then goes back to black....I thought it would stay red.

Mine does the exact same thing, the whole overlay blinks red after focus is achieved, but then the overlay returns to black. I thought this was the highest illumination option?

Although I keep hearing people talk about the overlay staying red?

I went to best buy today, just to be able to hold one, want it, cherish it. I go to turn it on.....nothing. I ask, can these cameras be turned on. I get, "yeah, but we don't have that one fully set up yet, it's new." GAH!! At least I held it. I kissed it before i sat it down too.

If someone has figured out a way to do that, I'd really like to know how. Having black focus points is my only complaint with this camera.

great pic, but why oh why would you do that? i wouldn't do that with a 1Ds even. you must have gotten paid really well.
