I need an advice from you guys, who already own this amazing lens.

I was wondering if I can use this lens to cover family events? like weddings, christenings, quinceaneras, etc..

I've been reading a lot and I'm in love with this lens, but most of the examples are macros shots, so I want to know how works with portraits and with low lights.

At the end of this month I will have my first Christening and I need an advice. Will be good to use this lens for this kind of event ?

(I will appreciate it if you can post some weddings or portraits shots using this lens)

Personally I wouldn't want this lens for family events due to two reasons - 1) it isn't particularly fast and 2) It's kinda slow in focusing.

85 1.8 is a much better choice and more balance.

You are better off upgrading your 28-135mm imo.

I would go with the Canon 60mm Macro. As good IQ, wider and much smaller and easier to handle. Both the 100 and the 60 are 1:1 magnification. The big difference is you don't have to be as close to achieve it with the 100 which is important if your shooting something like bugs.

AMAZING pictures... WOW!!

I shouldn't have looked through this thread. Now I'm considering this lens over the 135L. Decisions decisions.
