They're both good lenses, this one gives you wonderful macro goodness tho....

(I cheated on this image a little tho, there's an extension tube along with the lens)

Great shot.

I really like the idea of being able to use this for portraiture/candid shots as well as macro of course. Plus I feel like the IS would be really nice to have.

This picture is amazing. I'm really inspired when viewing all the pictures that the camera can achieve with this lens. Your photos on Flickr are awesome, too.

Thanks Sandy, your oil on water shots are so cool.

I am so glad I bought this lens.

I'm beginning to step into the territory of lens-gluttony. Just purchased this lens, and with much help from the images/users in this thread. Thanks...I think.

This lens is catapulting itself into the #1 Most Used of my lineup. Mainly because I am loving this whole macro business, what with Spring and all the new bugs/growth etc. going on.

...thank you! my camera settings for the spider shots:

F-stop = f/7.1
Exposure time = 1/200 sec
ISO speed = ISO-200

...I used a YN-560 on-cam flash (manual) set to flash power of 70 (not really sure what's the equivalent power to Canon's speedlights)

HTH! :)

Great shots!

With those settings were they taken in the evening or dim ambient light?
