Jef96 nice shoot and juscuz thanks for the info... is there any cheap way to defuse on camera flash I just got a reverse ring for my 40mm and nifty 50 and the pictures look very good with or with out flash..

I used focus stacking for the first time to get the DoF range I wanted in this image. The DoF range was razor thin as I was so close to the subject; even at f/8.0 I still stacked 17 images to create this shot. The shot above was taken with a distance of 2 meters and then cropped, but as you can see, it's not a sharp as this one as it was only 20cm from the subject. I will certainly be using focus stacking in the future; it's a lifesaver!

Nice pic.
It's a damselfly rather than a dragonfly though.
Dragonflies sit with their wings out to the side in a T shape. Damselflies sit with them swept back along the body.

Hi Colin,

no special gear or tripods, it was just on my kitchen table with my camera on a tripod at the edge of the table. In all, this is composed of 6 stacked images at f/22 to get the DoF range I required. I used Photoshop to do the focus stacking automatically for me :)
