They're about $200 at Adorama or B&H. Not cheap, but I use them a lot, so I think they're worth it.

If i recollect correctly, 68mm of tubes puts you at 3:1, close enough for me

Not to mention being able to retain aperture and AF is a huge plus in my book and worth the price considering i'm nowhere near steady enough to use the MPE-65.

Thanks Moose :)

If I'm not mistaken, it's 2:1. If you add a 1.4X TC to the mix, then you get 3:1. Takes a lot of light, though.

I've been enjoying this thread for months, and have had my 100mm for a few months as well. I absolutely love this lens! So SHARP!! I've got a long way to go to live up to some of the shots I've seen around here, but it's a fun time learning!

Here are a couple I took the other day. Any constructive criticism is welcome!

Small apertures help greatly, that shot was at F/13, the side effect to that is you need a ton more light, i'm a bit out of practice as of late so this shot was actually was underexposed (thank god for RAW). As for focusing, i use AI servo, not the traditional method of manual focus and moving in and out, and it has always served me well.

Here's another shot of the little guy after he got into some Cheetos :p

Thank you, yes it is.
Noticed a pretty one outside bathroom window. IS helped a lot as I was not able to set up a tripod in time before it would stop catching the sun's rays. Here's another with a little more context.
