The 100mm IS L macro "zoo" lens is also the 100mm IS L "car show" lens...

The only stupid question is the one that goes unasked - Photographers shoot to thrill, not to kill

car show = zoo.

Just different kinds of animals, yet beasts nonetheless.

err not sure, I still have both although the 100L sits on my camera more that the 135L these days, both are really nice the IS on the 100 is excellent but theres something about the 135L that makes me keep her.... cant really go wrong with either.

trade 100L for 135L ? humm, yes and no ...

I use the 100L for things the 85II is limited : fast AF, close focus, IS
I think it is a very good lens, but I really wish it would be a 2.0 or 1.8 so I get more DOF control, 2.8 is often not enough for me (I know the lens is not designed for that, my own personal use is the problem)

so I am looking at the 135L too : it could really use an update (the 200 IS shows how much can be done in that aspect) : sharpness, IS, better AF and even more open (I woul love a f1.4, or 1.8 )
I do not say it is a bad lens either, I know it is very good, but between my 85II and 200 2.0 it lacks something the 100L has

could I buy both ? sure ! but the bag is already 10kg plus and the 100L does it in most cases when the 85L is lacking or the 200 is too long : I would just not use the 135 so much

so, as you can see, it really depends on people and their needs, I am no macro shooter, so if they announce a 135 update, I may go for it because I need the DOF control
