I just got my ebay triggers, this may be a dumb question, but after I installed the battery, nothing happens. I put the battery in the reciever, and Im guessing I put it on L or W but the light on it doesnt come on. Am i missing something or did they ship it with a dead battery? Also, the little button on top of the transmitter just flashes once when I pres it. any secrets here or does it just know the reciever is turned on?

Make sure you tear up the clear film wrapper on the battery before installation on the Receiver. If you don't look carefully you will not know it has a wrapper. Also make sure your flash is on manual mode. What flash are you using?

Its a 430 EX. I did remove the plastic when I installed the battery. Is the light on the side of the trigger supost to stay on?

It should work with 430EX. No, the light should not stay ON. But the light is supposed to flicker when you press the test button on the Transmitter.
Put the flash on the Receiver and switchws to W and press the button on the Transmitter to see if it works; I mean without plugging the Transmitter on the camera yet.

When I bought mine, I received 3 receivers. The first 2 batteries worked fine in the receiver (and the receivers were fine) and then the third battery or receiver didn't work, so I swapped two of the batteries and after that, all 3 batteries and all 3 receivers have been working fine. Point of my post is did you only buy one receiver or did you buy two? Or can you find another battery at a local shop before claiming the receiver as DOA?

Im actually not sure. I took the battery out and put it back in. Switched the buttons a few times and then pressed the test button and it fired. Maybe something just wasnt seated right. Thanks.

Good for you. I know I was worried when that third one didn't work because so many people complain about cheap HK stuff not working, but I switched the batteries around and it was fine. I'm still happy with mine. Enjoy.

The Moose, the problem I am always worried about ebay stuff is returning the defective parts.. the time and cost it takes to return it and receiving another working copy can be very annoying.
