So I currently have a 50D as a crop, a 5DmkII and a 1DsmkIII. I am considering getting rid of my 50D for a 7D. I don't know if it's really worth it though considering I have my other two gems. What would you guys do? Waste of money? I really like my 50D but I can't get over reading all the great reviews of the 7D.

I'd sell all of them and then buy 7d, then take the wife away on holiday somewhere remote that has some insane waves for a while.

If you got the funds, then why not. Seems like it would be the fastest camera in your lineup, fps-wise...if that's what you are going for.

You're no help hahaha. None of you have been ;-)a I wish canon would make another full frame superior to the 5dii. I wouldn't even think about the 7D. And Nick you're right the crop is for fast sports.

you have a 1ds3 - the best overall camera... why the heck do you need the 7D? how often do you use the 50D?

Uh... For FPS and telephoto photography. The crop sensor can give me 1.6x's the magnification that my full frames can (obviously).

Get it if you can afford it...I don't see why not.

7D > 50D therefore get 7D.

The 1DMKIII is another alternative, again if you have the funds.
That'll give you 10fps. 10MP vs. 18MP however and from what I can tell high ISO noise is about even. If there is a difference, it seems insignificant.

Yes but I am still leaning towards the 7 for the extra magnification....

i'd sell the 5d II or the 1ds mark III, as well as the 50d, and get the 1d mark III. there are plenty of cheap used 1d3s on the market with all these guys upgrading to the 7d :D.

you probably don't need three cameras if you are asking the peanut gallery for recommendations :D.

Maybe you should save some money and buy yourself some longer lenses instead of another body? I would go with a Canon 500mm f/4.0L IS. ;)

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

doesn't the crop change the view , its not really offering adding any additional magnification?
