is it possble to trigger these "flashes"? Not really thinking about getting them, but maybe..

No need to trigger them. They are continuous lights. That means they're on all of the time. Just like really bright and hot light bulbs.

Actually, they're not even that bright of lights. 35 watts (even for CFL's) isn't much light.
