Tim have you tried using off camera flash with your 7D? I heard it works well when set in M mode only, ETTL is having some issues. No?

I just got a call from FedEx today saying my 7D has arrived in Calgary, now I just have to deal with customs and get to play with it soon! :)

ETTL has worked fine for me from the beginning. A couple people reported having issues but even they have said that the problem seems to have gone away, possibly fixed by one of the firmware updates.

I tried it briefly to do some testing, I didn't see any problems seemed to work fine.

I haven't tried off camera ETTL in ages, so I have no idea. Off camera in manual works fine. I don't use off camera ETTL, I prefer the consistency of manual.

The built in flash can do manual? Well, didn't know that. I don't use built in flashes at all so I have no idea about it.

What problem are you having? You should probably start a thread in the gear forum.
