The sun is setting earlier now and it has been foggy of late so this could help soften the light. I have never shot there before but depending on how far away you are, a scouting trip would be a good idea. I am actually planning a scouting trip down there a week prior. And you're right, the fog will certainly help with the harsh sunlight.
