Different....in a very good way. Well done.

@ Robert,

top one is dual lights from 2 different angles? one has a stronger shadow and the other isn't as noticeable.

so was that a different ratio? or different angles of the direction of the light cause the difference in the shadows?

the eyes say you used huge modifiers..

Hi Pham.

I'm using 2 14" x 55" gridded strip boxes. The cross shadows are intentional and the main is about 2/3 stop hotter than the fill. That can be seen in the shadows on the background. Both modifiers were placed fairly close and just out of frame.

You can always get cheap strips for now and then upgrade down the road. I don't know how others feel but for me, once I started using strip boxes I became addicted to them. They're so useful and offer so much control, even without a grid.

but i am always on the run and gun.. so strip boxes isn't a priority.. (though good light is !) haha

Don't think of strips only as a studio modifier. In the same way you set up your Deep Octa on a pole you can have a strip. No difference.

I understand strips are not a priority but I bet you'd completely fall in love with using a strip box as a main light.

Really awesome Rob and shadows look brilliant on that first one - really adds to the shot!

This was shot upstairs in my house without a black background so I had to edit out the background which was a pain the arse.
