Got Papparazzi Retouch to add graphics to an Alden edit I did. Asked the younger girls at work which they preferred and they overwhelmingly chose the graphics version. They said my edit was boring lol (ie my usual pp). It's not for everyone but he did a decent job on graphics for relatively cheap and client likes it. I'm kinda meh but it's not for me lol. Graphics, just another tool in the arsenal to attract clients ;)

As an ad I really like this shot. Thats how it should go, photographer takes the shot and AD makes it work for an ad.
Just curious, why did you choose stripbox over BD for example?

great point, it is an ad after all, not just a beauty shot. They're gonna choose a pic for a billboard. They're just a small local cosmetic line launching in April. Alden is the daughter of the cosmetic line creator and not a pro model ;)

Stipbox vs BD: Like to shoot with model constantly moving starting at right profile, face on, then left profile...very simple but I get alot looks that way. Stribox wraps better when they're profile, I find BD is more focused.

Its amazing what those pro ad people can do in few minutes to images. Photogs normally concentrate on technical aspects and how good the model looks. In ads its all about the product, not the model :D

That makes sense. Very true when you need to shoot in small place and when strobes are close to model

@ Kokakaste2 ---- interesting work
@ Moedizzle ---- creative work too !

---------------

I swear i am not copying Peter's work.. lol.. i took this back last year in the fall.. but it does go with the back lighting formula, which i do love doing..

the backlighting does 2 things..
1. creates nice rim lighting
2. makes interesting light..

so if you get a chance back light something and you might like the results..

Lighting was 3 lights

2 speed lights on stands about 8 feet away from Ashley with a red gel at 1/16 power each..
1 Elinchrom quadra with a Deep Octa Boomed by Ryan O Hicks about 5 Feet Camera right @ 1.4 in power

This photo was taken on November 15, 2010 using a Canon EOS 5D Mark II.

That goes to show two things:

1. I have been paying attention and learning from you
2. You use Ryan O Hicks as a boom quite a bit. ;)

Here's a recent 2 strobe shot using a pair of Canon 540EZ's. One through a FireFly beauty box at 1/2 power camera right and high and the other set to 1/16th power, zoomed to 85mm, laying on the table and pointed at the white foam core BG. Aimed low and to the right so as to get that gradual fade to the upper left corner. I haven't printed this image yet, but that odd banding is only an online thing and not somethin that will be printed. I've gone back in and tried to minimize it in PP. Hmmmm...

A wider shot of the plant. It's an orchid called Neostylis Lou Sneary 'Blue Bird'. And it smells wonderful in the evening. Same basic lighting set-up.
