Pham - Have you ever thought about putting some of these works in a gallery? Some of the stuff that you've been turning out lately is such an 'art' that it feels like it's surpassed commercial photography in my mind. I'd pay to see some of these in a gallery! This one is amazing, the creepy child, winter sisters, goddess of light...all simply awe inspiring....

thanks for the vote of confidence.. but it isn't that much talent really, i just placed some of the images on another background and blended them into the correct color and such..

the winter sister was my own from scratch..
the creepy child was a total exercise from a tutorial
mother nature was a background swap and i added the leaves and butterflies.

all of the photos came from a fashion shoot i did a long time ago.. just on grey screen, the MUA really was the talent, plus they designed the outfits too..

i am going thru phases in photography and trying to be as dynamic as i can. shooting seniors, weddings, modeling, etc... and now going into learning photoshop manipulations is the next step.. doing these exersize until i feel like i fully understand how to swap backgrounds, and blend them, light them, perspective them.. etch..

i feel photography to me is now this: 1/3 good file in camera, 1/3 good post work, 1/3 artistic compositions

of course if your doing a job, head shot, weddings, etc that doesn't apply, but for personal is what i was talking about..

thanks

Thanks for sharing that info Pham, I thought this was a composite because of the little bit of gray around the wig but overall very well done, the grass around her boots was really well done! I am just starting to do more design stuff in photoshop, I made a coffee cup with my logo on it from scratch.

Randy, Yeah I was surprised too, we were shooting in the skyway (as you will see farther down in this post) and when we were done we walked back through this building to get back to the car, my model saw me drooling about the location and so she just went and asked the security cards at the desk if we could shoot for a bit and they said it was fine. Made sure to thank them very much afterwords and just generally be nice. With me on location I will always ask if theres a security guard or something, worst thing they can do is say no and then we leave and find another good location!

Disclaimer: the info above is for non-paid non-commercial shoots, I have no clue who you would talk to about getting a shooting permit for a paid commercial shoot... probably someone at the city hall who gives general media permits.

heres that walkway shot, and i think one of the last of this set
