all the Elinchrom strobes were set at power setting of 1.5, except the DLite on the ground was at 2.0 b/c that's lowest it'll go, so I backed it up some.
Also the Sekonic meter read f/13 and shot at f/10-11 b/c I like bright/ slightly overexposed pics. YMMV depending on lens etc ;)

thanks!

Just a comment.

One cannot get the same result even when you ask and acquire the same settings and equipment.

In order to replicate or even get close to a result, you have to have the same shooting condition, the right people (model, MUA, stylist), and most importantly.... PP skills....granting you already have that creative eye.

PP skills are the biggest hurdle, for me anyways ;)

Hoping to get much better at it from a graphic designer friend. I hate trying to learn it on my own, too time-consuming.

I'll make no statement on the ethics or integrity of photoshop, but it's become a bit of an mandatory part of the workflow. It's surprising how powerful Ps is, the more I use it. I shoot film and leave it to keep myself sane but, very often, Post is the biggest differentiator from photog to photog.

Ugh - so many great shots on this page from Peter, Pham, and more. All of these were shot using Westcott's new TD6 Spiderlite lighting system down at Photoshop World a couple weeks ago.

Larger versions and some basic lighting info can be seen by clicking on the image.

FJ Westcott had 4 stations with lights and models and basically everyone went and shot at once so you basically were fighting just to either move up closer to the model or keep your spot once you got there. It was crazy (and lots of fun)

Here is an example of the crowd:

Lighting: 1 Quantaray PZ-1 DSZ, directly above and slightly in front of subject, 1/16 power, diffused by an Opteka (SB-5) 8"x6" foldable softbox with a piece of white paper inside diffusing the light a bit. 1 Quantaray PZ-1 DSZ, directly behind camera (on-axis fill), 1/16 power, diffused by a 43" Westcott umbrella. Flashes triggered via Cybersyncs.

Hi Chris,

I saw these images posted in the Continuous lighting thread so I'm assuming you were using the Spiderlite's with fluorescent bulbs and not with flash units installed.

This thread is for multiple strobes, not multiple lights. :)

Left - Strawberry Delight
Right - Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting

Wifey made some cupcakes for our upcoming job together as a team. She will be doing the Hair/MakeUp and the Cake and QuickWorks will do the photography. These were made for the cake tasting.
