I could have removed the footprints but i thought it might look like the model wasn't actually there, especially because the lighting is so surreal. Do you think it would be better without?

3 strobes on the pocketwizard wireless triggering system. One behind the model set to full power. and one either side of the model left and right. right one is slightly behind so as not to fill in the shadows on the right side of her face.

Pocketwizard gear is really good coz it fires from up to 100 metres away. which was required for this image to work.

Used a slow shutter speed of 1/40 to get the motion blur on the material.

Just messing around trying to get some DoF using strobes. Not the best shot but Slurm is just so addictive!

Sorry... should have said that I was trying to get a shallow depth of field.

Nothing extra creative, I needed both their faces lit fairly evenly for them to be easily regonizable - the photo will end up on ~2500 posters (that's why the framing with a lot of empty space) around Prague as a promo for a dance group run by one of the girls, the other one is a singer.

lit with speedlights, 2 in front, SB for key camera right, shoot-through umbrella for (fairly strong) fill camera left, 2 rims on both sides, just enough to separate their legs (could be a bit stronger in hindsight)
