The distortion on those light posts is wicked. ;)

Yeah, they were 10ft away in front of a 10mm lens. That was one of my first landscape shots. It's quite a hill from where I was to the Capitol, and it gave me a headache fixing the perspective as best I could.

from a workshop i attended, this is my editing with the what i learned a few weeks ago.
setup was a beauty dish high and slight right, feathered up a bit, and a light far back right for a little rim. and sun back left-ish.
what i learned from the workshop, beautiful models a must! and good editing techniques.

ah very nice. I like the use of the shallower DOF with it as opposed to shooting stopped down, it adds a very 3 dimensional feel to the finished photo, also the editing is spot on in my book. Very nice work. I want to do location work like this lol

CTB = "Color temperature blue" ^

Another one from the same shoot a few pages back. We took off the white paper and used that decoration as the background.

it was a Quavondo and Pratik (solstice retouching) workshop

We were a test group for their workshop, for feedback and to see what to improve on and stuff, i can't disclose of the techniques ,my words my bond, but it is similar to Natalia Taffarel's retouching. I do believe Pratik teaches private lessons, and knowing both ways his saves time and is easier :) but i would start bugging them on their blogs or email's asking about workshops, it is great stuff !

edit: the Natalia DVD's are great, and at a great price, but that is the old method, it still works and works very well, she is a one of the best in the world.
the Pratik method, i like alot more because it is a time saver and delivers great results.
i spend an hour on skin tops now, with the natalia method it would take me 3 hours~ so i did it on 2 images then used my own express method with portraiture and hers mixed together.
i would say both methods are 75% similar.
if you want to learn good retouching i would say get the natalia dvd's or get in touch with Pratik.
the dvds are cheaper.
also just to add that photo was not edited in the workshop, we did an african american lady , and a inside shot of the girl above, that was my edit 2 weeks later after practicing a bit. on my flickr you can see my progression , some of the older ones are hidden.
but with all things it comes down to practice, i wouldn't of been able to do his method so fast (that was like my 4th or 5th edit with it) without knowing the natalia method first. and im still no where near as good as I can be with it
