I'm just starting exploring multi-strobe shooting. Here's one of my best so far, a "product" shot of my 180L for a presentation I'm putting together. I used an old flash gun with a home-made softbox at full power camera left, but shielded from the background; a silver reflector under the lens to lighten the shadow; a 580EXII above right at 1/8 power with a mid blue filter; and a 430EXII at 1/4 power lighting the white background with a purple filter. I tried to get a natural vignette with a home-made snoot, but I didn't like the look so I removed the snoot and added the vignette in post processing.

Thanks!

I originally thought I'd get away with one light but I ended up using two because I couldn't get everyone lit evenly.

If it's the ambient fluorescent lighting that's giving you the reflections, turn them off. If it's your strobes, shoot a few photos without them and do a composite ;) Love the 5 flashes in the background one!

I think its a photoshop plugin where the skin is smoothed out completely then a texture is added.

A few on here seem to use it but they tend to be a little coy about sharing the name of it...

I am personally not a big fan of the look.
