Yup! It's part of an EGR-Delete Kit for a Duramax.

He's also the one making my under-car automotive rig :D

Hello! My name is Heather. I am socially new here to potn. I have been lingering around for a while though. This was taken back in April during a mini strobist meet up in the Shreve Swamps of Shreve Ohio. I was going for a "Silent Hill" look. Speedlights used:
Olympus flash to the left 1/2 power. Canon EOS 430ex to the right misfire. All triggered by my on board flash on my 7D.

If there was a TAD more detail, I think it would be pretty rockin'. I like the concept, and I think the pose and comp is great, especially with the sunset on fire like this.

Any without a misfire?

I do have to agree with you. This would have turned out much better with more detail. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to take more without a misfire. Shortly after I took this photo, we were all kicked out of the park by the park ranger. Considering the amount of coyotes we heard, we were not going to argue with him.
I do have a black and white version of this photo. I actually like that one more.

Here's the b&w:

Ginger, if I may suggest - crop the image just above the subject's elbows. They just hang on the bottom of the frame and sort of come out of nowhere due to the dark shirt. I do like the B&W better, though - there is considerably more detail here.

Is this a State Park? Was there an open-hours policy that you were violating? Know your rights regarding public places so you can use what you are PAYING (taxes) to have access to. Not saying the Ranger was wrong - just asking questions! :)

Okay, I will crop it to check that out right now. Yes it is a state park. Right at sunset the ranger drives around to make sure people leave before dark. The Shreve Swamps have a rather scary history. Murders being placed there, kkk meet up's, cult gatherings, ect...
I won't even go there alone.

Completely agreed. If they close at "sunset," it's important to point out the true time of sunset, rather than allowing them to kick you out once the sky gets pretty. I had to deal with a ranger who was antsy to be done for the night, and showed him the time of official sunset to make him leave me alone for that last 10 minutes that I needed.

Edit (external link) by thatGINGER! (external link), on Flickr

Cropped and edited her face a little bit.

I think the guy was just in a rush or something. He was pretty rude now that I look back on it. He asked what we were doing, we told him and he replied real short "You need to leave now." It was rather odd. :/

That was more or less my experience too. There's no job out there that's totally easy or fun, but it strikes me as odd when a ranger (who's paid to spend time in a beautiful area surrounded by people who appreciate nature) is so rude. I can't really imagine being all sorts of cranky with a job like that.

(I should add that I've got a few friends who are park rangers, and they love their job and seem to always be friendly with visitors.)
