Cool. The catch lights are different. You get this idea from Joe Edelman?

I did see his video, but I had had the idea of trying a "fake kinoflo" setup for quite some time, just never wanted to justify spending more money, when I saw 2 light 4' fixtures for $14 and bulbs for $2 it was hard to say no!

My tried on clamshell self-headshot. It was so difficult for me to shot best look smile on me. I found myself cannot smile more than that, else it will look ugly. and I unable to repeat this smile anymore on newer shot. have to learn control face emotion-eye contact-smile more in headshot and avoid 'lucky shot' :) anyway, input from this shot, what can further improve or post processing this picture? (I have the raw file)

Fantastic image, I am guessing this was on the phase one back. The detail retention in the shadows is fantastic. The only thing I would say and it has nothing to do with your image but if your a model get rid of the belly ring.

Thank you!

It is the Phase back.

I agree and was contemplating removing the piercing in post.

Good ones Ralph...

I have just started usinf Portrait Professional plugin for CS5. It is great, and it greatly improved my workflow, but just sucks for freckles.. This was a major issue here

When there are no freckles, it is a lot easier..

Don't you DARE process away those freckles! I like the first expression the best, but would enjoy her hair being more in control and a slightly looser crop. The grey background brings drab to the photo - something that works with her hair color may be better in this instance. Have you tried working with gels or background replacement?
