Dumb question for those of you much more familiar with the web software than I....

The little green dot below the user information on a post that indicates someone is present, does it mean that someone is active in that specific forum? Or just active somewhere in POTN?

It may not mean anything significant - I stay logged in to POTN for weeks or months at a time. I doubt I'm the only one...

There is a timeout. After you've closed your browser or stopped viewing the sight for XXX amount of time you'll show as offline (red dot). Next time you open POTN, your cookie lets you in without having to log in (same here) then you show as online (green dot).
