Here in Missouri we had a cool sunset tonight. I underexposed the scene a bit to help bring out some of the finer cloud details and color.

That's AWesome! Here in Houston we had a weird sky tonight as well. It's overcast and raining, but the whole sky turned very orange, thus turning the ground all orange. It looked eerie. It only lasted for about 5 minutes. I wonder if there was something different happening in the atmosphere to explain this?
Great shot, I'm glad you were able to take advantage of it.

Thanks Sam!

Not sure if there is a volcano that is spewing up particles somewhere giving us all cool sunsets, but our sky was very orange-red tonight for sure. I do remember back in the '80's an aurora borealis outbreak that turned our sky (Missouri) to a glowing red. We actually thought that maybe St. Louis was on fire it was so impressive and we live 100 miles south! If I remember correctly even folks down as far as Texas saw this event.

Wow, that's crazy! Very nice.

We had something similar in Vancouver a couple months ago - didn't have any of the red tones..

Very well done! And you've done a great job in getting the exposure right for maximum saturation.
Beautiful!

wow, love the colors! It would still be very appealing to me even without the silouette of the tree line. Very abstract.

Awesome colours there. Took this shot last winter. I was down at the seafront looking for a sunrise shot. The dawn was grey but I "hung on" just in case!! :D

Got these vivid red colours for about 3/4 minutes tops then the show was over, back to a dull grey again.
