After weeks of uncertainty only two days before the gig my request to shoot was finally accepted. Actually someone else had to make room for me

Anyways: crowded venue, no photo pit, not too much space to move around, 3 song rule, a few annoying "photographers" and a 54 year old Nina Hagen wearing two pony tails who was much more boring than anyone could have predicted in advance. Some of my shots:

Thanks :)

The one who made and posted this YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtqS_xhjeO0 (external link)) says it all I guess:

"Only the cover version My Way from the Sex Pistols made me smile . All the rest was some stupid religious ****...ave Maria, couldn't believe it!!! But it was nice seeing her... "

Looks like any action there was, you got.

Must be the first time I actually walked out on a gig more then once out of disappointment...

And she NEVER stopped sucking on that microphone, eh? Remind me of why you went at all? LOL.

Edit: Do most performers at Atak use English?

i really like #2 and #6. she looks like a teutonic exene cervenka, kinda. if this was a boring gig, you did a hell of job not making it seem so from the photos.

And that's a hell of a compliment, thanks :)

Dwight; language depends. Foreign performers, UK, USA or other, usually talk in English yes. Language in the lyrics depends on the music and choice of the artist ;)

#5 for me... interesting lighting and composition... There's nice action in the other ones too.

Yikes... if you tell me what it is, I'll tell you what to feed it.

Great photography work though.

Finally have my images online as well: Link (external link) to give a better idea of how much action there was for Nouks to capture ;)

About 5 images I'm more or less content with. That's not the same as happy with ;)
More "neutral" processing then Nouks' images, but might give an idea of the night.

One quite similar image to #6, but with Nina not looking into the camera:

Feel free to post some more if you like, always fun to compare shots of the same show :)

Three I kinda like then:

Like the motion here. Not too crazy about the camera shake, the focus (which is off), or the cropped mic. ("off" as well :p). Previous shot (external link) in the gallery is much better motion wise, and the mic is in the frame, but the expression kinda sucks and it's even less sharp.

If these two were combined (nice motion and nice expression), it would have been the best of the night. Bummer.

(I actually think I like the other shot better then this one, but posted this because of the next shot)

Not sure what's the deal with her tongue. Se did that quite a bit...

Rene, yours in this last set look a bit soft. Might have cropped off a bit on the left in the first and centered her up in the last as there's nothing to balance all the space on the right. I expect she does that thing with her tongue because she thinks it's sexy! LOL.

Probably because they are ;)
The only sharp images in the set are at the end...

First or first in second post?
The landscape shot: Yeah, but I'd have lost too much height.

Others: Don't think so. I like her "leaning" against the left side in the last.
