They look good, I have never been to Willow Springs but would love to go and take some photos there. Do they let you in or do you need special "privileges".

I love the contrast because of the background being pretty much the same color. It really makes the car stick out. What lense were you using?

The 2 that are wider were taken with the 70-200mm f2.8 (nonIS) and i BELIEVE the tighter shot was with my 400mm f5.6

Willow is a nice place, so many different tracks, but the brown background gets old haha. You can shoot pretty well there with no special pass, the track is pretty much right there. I am sure there are some more shots to be had if you could get int he middl eof the large track, but I have never done that.

Ok thanks. Yea I am going to have to go there one weekend and take some shots. Have you ever shot at Auto Club Speedway track days? I shot at one and it was pretty fun, just depending if they let you close to the track or not.

Yeah I have shot a few there. I posted them a while ago. Having a 400mm there helped a lot.

i am actually going there this Sunday to shoot at the big track. from the advice i've gotten here, shooting from the Budwiser balcony at turn 4 is a good location.

do you have any other advice for me?

The light will probably be harsh and cruddy. The POC event I shot there went into dusk, which was nice.

I should be going to Willow Springs this Saturday, it will be my first time there. Do you think I can get away with 200mm or should I go 300 or 400?
