How can I crop multiple size in Lightroom using either virtual copies or original? After making the crops I want to be able to rename them subject8x10-7856. I know that I can crop the VC and then export them, but I have no way of know if it is a 4x6 or 8x10.

When you export a VC with a unique feature you can just select Custom Name in the Export dialog for naming, then copy the base filename with an added description. Of course, you can only do this with one at a time, but it saves the hassle of poking around and renaming afterwards.

One bit of a gotcha -- make sure that when you are done and are going back to your "normal" Export naming scheme that you change that option back. Forgetting to do so will cause you to keep saving to the one copy (Don't ask me how I know that):)!

You can just make a custom export name that includes a dimension tag based text or cropped vs not cropped. It'll automatically put the values regardless how large your export is, but not sure if they will say "8x10" or just something like "2400x3000" or "yes"

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

What do you mean exactly?

Exactly what I said. When you export, you can change the file naming using fields rather than text. Just go to export and start clicking on stuff until you find it, since nobody uses LR1 anymore and most information on the web has been updated for LR2 (and I have LR2 installed right now). You can also just buy a book on LR1 and it should explain how.

You know you could have saved the no one using Lightroom 1 anymore comment. Really wasn't need to make your point. I am sorry that I am not ready to move to LR2. Hell there are some that are using Picasa, so I think I am doing pretty good.
