It has been a while since I have done some moon shots. It was pretty spectacular tonight, so I stepped outside and took a few. Here are a couple. All shots were with the 100-400 f/4-5.6L , 1.4x Teleconverter attached. I particularly like the second one, taken through trees. The moon was still low on the horizon and had a nice orange glow.

Very nice!

So NICE to see some COLOUR pics of the moon, instead of the usual BLAH grey!

That could start some discussions! ;)

As primarily a landscape photographer, I like the color that they eyes see as the moon is low on the horizon. These photos more closely resemble what I actually saw that evening.

Oh I know. But don't get me wrong. The B&W photos of the moon are all incredible.

It's just that when you see it "LIVE" esp if the sky is that rich deep deep blue colour, and the moon almost looks as if it has a "silvery" tint to it, it would be so much NICER to see those awe inspiring colours, instead of just plain ol' grey!

Or as these pics prove, when the moon has that GOLDEN glow to it...so much nicer in LIVING colour than in 1930's Black & White.
