Now Presenting: Cute Little Puffball

At first glance I thought this bird was just an oddly shaped stone in the road on the Gull Tower leg of the driving loop. I pulled my car over, got on my belly and crawled up to the Swallow, it didn't seem to care too much though! After I got a few shots off, I ushered it off the road and out of harm's way. The little puffball made a noise at me and very reluctantly relocated off of the road.

Great shot Dave. Swallows land on the roads and paths here too. Not sure what it is. Why not just land on a tree branch?

Thanks Mitch, maybe this was a nice and warm spot for it, because the road is sand and gravel. Then again, maybe it was just stubborn

Not sure, but it's not just one or two. I've seen a dozen of them do it here.

Dave, I plan to visit the Refuge this weekend, specifically the drive loop. Were there many photo opportunities at this refuge? Or will I be disappointed. I know nature is unpredictable but what was your experience at the refuge.

I checked out your Pbase site and you have some really nice shots...however, the watermark doesn't allow full view of some photos. It seems you have it set to be in the middle of all photos. Just an observation.

The 500 f4 and 1.4 seems to be doing you justice. Great shots
