Does anyone find that the 50mm 1.2L is unacceptably slow focusing in low light?

Slow? Not really. It's not a 300mm f2.8, sure but we are talking about low light performance here. If it's too dark to Manually Focus, then it's probably too dark for the AF sensor too.

I don't understand why 50L's reviews are always lower than 35L, 85LII and 135L?

I find the 50/1.2 to be unacceptably everything :)

I think It's because it gets noticably softer as the focus point gets closer to min Focus Distance. Which is exactly where most lens testers place their lens charts...
It's far sharper at Infinity than at 0.45m

I absolutely love mine. Just as much as 35L and 135L.

I was impressed by the lens, dont get me wrong. One of my favorite shots from the wedding came from this lens, but my keeper rate was very low, i missed focus alot. And I am not complaining just about that, I could not acquire focus at times at all,
its not the light because the 35 1.4/24-70 were nailing it on the same exact scenes.

It was noticeably better on the 1D than on the 5D but it still struggled. It was my first time using the lens so maybe there is just a learning curve.

I have experienced focusing problems with the 50L in very low light (near darkness) but never when there is at least "dusk" level light. I don't consider this abnormal since I've encountered this with most of my lenses.
