Took the new 15mm out back to test it against the Tokina 10-17mm both on the 5D.
I expected a hands down knock out, but the results are very interesting.
Couple caveats:
1) I have my Tokina currently Taped (gaffed) at 14mm as that is how I shoot it in the water with my 1D lately. I cant find my tape sooooo long story short, this is a 14mm to 15mm comparison. I will redo it as soon as I find my tape
2) I did not find this out until it was already to dark so I could not reshoot but.... The Canon 15mm back-focuses about a inch or less so these comparisons should be taken with a grain of salt.
When I reshoot I will
1) get some nicer light
2) verify focus is identical on both
3) verify the Tokina is at exactly 15mm
Both shots at F 7.1 (my main setting when shooting fish)
