Canon EOS 450D, Sigma 18-200mm, Canon 50mm f/2.5 Macro, 2x TC, Revelation 12" f/5 Dobsonian, Mintron PD2285-EX webcam.

Oct 10, 2009 21:23 | #8 Don't rely on the Auto Focus. Use Live view at 10X zoom on the perimeter and focus manually. Use Mirror Lockup, and either the self time or a remote release. You can get some good moon shots with a 50D. Here's a gallery I have of 50D attempts.: Gear List

Set your camera on a tripod and get it ready..disable autofocus and use the LCD to focus + Magnifying zoom to 10x Adventurous Photographer, Writer

PP? You'll have to forgive me, I'm new to this. I used a Canon 40D with a Canon EF 70-300 F/4-5.6 IS USM on a tripod. I've yet to buy a remote, so I used mirror lockup, and the timer. I did crop them, and sharpen them a little using Digital Photo Professional.

Very good , it's hard to get a moon image this good on a tripod without a bigger lens . WTG !
