sounds like it is pretty faint. Amazing such a huge ring has eluded scopes for all these years.

But as the article says, the ring is made up of such small particles that if you were standing in it you wouldn't even notice, so I guess it's not surprising. First one to photo it with an amatuer scope from earth... Canon EOS 450D, Sigma 18-200mm, Canon 50mm f/2.5 Macro, 2x TC, Revelation 12" f/5 Dobsonian, Mintron PD2285-EX webcam.
