Advice Needed...My Seller has Disappeared..

i did check and he hasn't been on the site since we spoke, which given his feedback and posting history probably means he's gotten wrapped up in personal stuff...he does have something going on. i don't think he sold it away, he's just not that type from what i have read and from my conversation with him. while his price on the item in question is good, it is a high dollar piece of gear so the buyers are limited in number. i'm content to wait a bit and see what happens. if another good price on the lens shows up i won't hesitate, but this is a 'want to have' rather than 'have to have' for me.

I would not buy anything from this person now, once you send the money, it may take him 30 days to ship, with no communication. You did not lose anything now, don't make the same mistake a very costly one.

I wouldn't bother him with another voicemail, email, or anything---not even a followup. He's got your info and if he wants to sell to you, he'll contact you. You've already placed the ball in his court, numerous times, even going so far as to check if he has been online--no need for you to give him an overhead smash by contacting him yet again.

In the meantime, look elsewhere for another lens.

good news! he came back to me yesterday, and as i was hoping he just had some stuff going on. funds went out today, hopefully i'll have the lens in my hands in a week.

The seller is me. I am going through a divorce and had issues. We got it worked out. He sent a cashier check. BUT, I have not seen the check yet. I am hoping he put tracking and/or signature required on it. It is coming from california so maybe it is delayed? This has never happened to me so, as anyone would be worried about him, me and my reputation on the forums.

Sorry to hear about the divorce. Nobody wins, well except for the lawyers. I am sure you both will get the deal all figured out.
