Hi all, I don't often pop in here but couldn't help but mention Suzy that every time I see your username it reminds me of the Creedence Clearwater Revival song Suzie Q!! Random comment I know!!

Anyway, I'm thinking of upgrading my 20D and 30D to either 2 7D bodies or a 7D and a 5DII - I need better low-light options for weddings. Which would you go for?

I have the 5D2 and love it. I am actually hoping to get another 5D, which I'm negotiating. I like the 40D, but I like FF for events. So, I am getting the 5D Classic and eventually selling the 40D to get the 7D for sports. I shoot my sons' games and I hope it's better for color than my 40D. I think the 7D and 5D2 combo is great for events. If you have the money, get the 5D2 no matter what. Your 24-70 will be a totally different tool. You'll love it. I use my 70-200 and 24-70 and it's like having a 24-200 lens. I wish!

My Grandson is here and he is in love with this crazy song called Crazy by Pit Bull...Oh my gosh.. so we jump around like crazy people and NO, you won't see a pic of that!

How are you all?

Ah, Tea. Ambrosia . . .

So you still interested in mine, or is this another one?

Yours, of course. :)

I just had some okay Chinese food. My sore throat was getting to me, so I had some hot and sour soup. I don't know if it helped, but it was good.

Jon, I'm going to the Clay Warriors exhibit Dec. 11. Are you going? No photography is allowed.

I'm not thinking that far ahead. What day is that? Do they require advance tickets? I'm still trying to sort out Nov. 11-16; I know Wool and I are meeting up the 12th or 13th, but we need to figure where and we're hoping Jenn can make it too. It's going to be my first big 7D session . . . gotta decide whether to take the 1D3 along too, or not.

You have too many choices, Jon. :) I'm taking my brother and his wife and daughter and the 4 of us in my minivan. My brother has a Hasselblad and is very happy with it, but he can't take it. No photography allowed.

Hi Mike,

Good choices on bodies...but if I were you I would seriously consider adding a 17-55MM f/2.8 EF-S IS to your kit for low light work. I have shot 12 weddings in the part year and the 17-55MM f/2.8 EF-S IS mounted on my 30D was the main rig at each one. I use my 5D & 85MM f/1.2 as the secondary rig.

Rent the 17-55MM f/2.8 EF-S IS for a week and give it a try out. IMHO it is reason enough to keep a crop body in your kit forever :)

I am tempted to get a 7D in 2010 and drop the dRebel XT. I usually keep my 10-22MM EF-S on the dRebel as a fun wedding backup rig.

Jim -- I keep the Leica D-Lux 7 in the Glove Box just in case!
7D, G5X, 10-22MM EF-S, 17-55MM f/2.8 EF-S IS, 24-105MM f/4 EF L, Leica D-Lux 7

Hi, Jim. How are you today? Cloudy here, but should be a good day. Traffic is awful, though.

I'm getting all my gear in bags for tomorrow. Poor Bev is getting mighty nervous. I didn't get to call you last night. I can call you later tonight. I've been out. I did catch the middle of the Yankees' win yesterday.

Why can't I shoot like this man? He's amazing. This e-session is about the best one I've seen in a very long time.

Thanks Jim. I had been pondering thge 17-55is for some time but my more pressing requierement is the body upgrade I think. I'll certainly keep it in mind though and if I can get a few more bookings for next year that may go onto the wishlist too!

Very nice shots. It really bugs me though when people start a thread with just a link and no introduction.

Usually it bugs me, too. But with this particular member, you have to accept that all his images are going to be amazing, so you're glad he puts the link and not the 8 he has to choose from. He's one I take the time to see all of the gallery. They are that good.

That's true enough, they are very good. I just moan more because I'm on a dial up connection at work so loading lots of images takes a long time! ;)
