Nice glamor shot!

Happy Mother's Day weekend to all you Moms out there! And Mo, I'm still trying to get to NYC. I want to see my Mom, too. It's just hard to get out with the boys having so many activities.

I'm going to shoot some soccer finally tomorrow. Can't wait!

Good Morning, All!

Adam, nice shot! I saw this and your other one in G&N last night :)

We had a great Board meeting last week...I agreed to stay on the Board for another two year term. This makes my retirement date JAN 2014!

Off to run chores and do some shopping with Elaine...first stop is Bob Evans for breakfast

Sounds like a plan, Jim! I'm tired, but soccer is today, so I've got the sunscreen on and ready to shoot.

I miss you all. I doubt I'll be able to get to NYC to see Mo and Skip, but I am planning a trip to UT to see my new granddaughter before the end of the month. Got to put priorities first. I'm really tired, though. It's been a very long week for us. My thoughts are with all the people living by the flooding Mississippi River. I can't imagine losing my home and everything inside. I guess that's why we live inland a little bit.

Our resort in Orlando. It's really home away from home for us. We go at least every other year.

I just got a call this afternoon from my friend Brittany who bought my old 5D Classic over a year ago. She loves the camera and always thanks me for selling it to her. Well, the mirror came off this morning as she was cleaning the camera for a pro shoot tonight. She has an engagement session and she was in a panic. She has her old 20D, but it just isn't good enough for the work she's doing, so she called me to see if there is a cure for the 5D. I told her she'd have to send it to Canon for repairs, but it takes about 10 days to 2 weeks to get it back. She has 3 pro shoots in the meantime, so she was upset. I had my 5D2 with my 24-70 on me as we were both at the soccer fields and I told her she could borrow my set-up until her 5D got fixed. She couldn't believe it! She said she'd rent it from me, but I haven't used my 5D2 for soccer in months. So, I told her not to worry about it. We'll figure something out later. I hope she doesn't drop it or anything, but I don't mind sharing it. Makes me feel better than my own friends who I said no to taking pictures for will have pictures done with my camera anyway. Brittany charges for her work and some people are more comfortable paying for all the work done than for free work. Little do they know that it takes many years for us to get the exposure and focus thing done the way we want and then the PP is about as tough as you can imagine in bad lighting conditions. I probably will have to teach Brittany how to do off camera lighting at the receptions with stands and slaves, etc. I don't mind. I like to share the knowledge.

Suzie, you are a good friend to load out your 5D MKII. As long as it is insured then no worries.

Love the Florida photos...looks like you all had a great time!

I'm off with Elaine to Hagerstown, MD to shoot a Wedding Rehearsal at 1PM today...we are looking for a Waffle House on the way up...yum...real waffles :)

Oh, I hope you had a great Mother's Day, friends! Tell Elaine that having a grandbaby is as good as it gets for a grandma. :)

Waffles? Yum. Just came home from a missionary farewell tonight and his favorite dish is blueberry pancakes so that's what we had. It was delicious!

Hubby and sons made dinner tonight, including my favorite HAPPYoca, which is what they used to call tapioca when they were small. They made it with read sugar and whole milk. I was in heaven. Ken grilled up some ribs and ribeye for me, so I'm having the most calories in one day than I've had in a long time. All good, though.

You know how I feel about the gear, Jim. I love having it, but I don't mind sharing it in a pinch. Also, Canon is supposed to fix the mirror falling out on the 5DC for free, so I hope she gets her camera fixed ASAP so I can take my 5D2 to Utah in 2 weeks.

Had a great wedding rehearsal yesterday. This is Terri and Steve. The wedding is next Saturday at the Cortland Mansion in Hagerstown, MD. Beautiful venue for a wedding :-)

Hope all have a great week...it is just beautiful here in NoVa :-)

Nice place and shot, Jim. I have a wedding to attend on Saturday, actually, just the reception in the evening. Brittany is using my 5D2 and 24-70 to shoot it, so I feel like I'm contributing. It's nice just to be seated and have a nice meal without having to stress. :) I told my family this week that I am semi-retiring from shooting as much as I can't commit so far in advance to do much shooting.

Whoa! You can't "semi-retire" until I do! :D We need more Mormon Temple grounds events! :):):)

No one wants me to shoot for them because they'd rather pay someone to do all the work, including all the printing, etc. It's like all my friends can afford to pay for the work, and they want me to enjoy myself. I guess that makes me valuable to them in a more friend way than a hired pro way. That's nice. I have a lot of weddings this summer, I counted 8. Some are here, some are in UT. I'm hoping to get some fun guest shots if the pro lets me.

A quick hello! We are staying so busy here in NYC. I got up at 0600 to get 'rush' tickets at Carnegie Hall for James Taylor. I was first in line, got 2 tickets on the 3rd row balcony & the best part..... They were $10 apiece!!!! The people who sat next to us paid $125 each for their seats ;)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Good for you! Love Carnegie Hall. No picture taking allowed, though. And don't tell me you snuck in your 5D. I don't want to know. :)
