Suzie, today is also my older brother's birthday so yours is easy to remember.

I have been excused from jury duty!! First time that I can remember :)

Last night the boys wanted to come spend the night so they did... we stayed up until midnight playing. They are so wonderful :) Then Carrie picked them up a little bit ago to take them out for breakfast as she works the rest of the week.

So Nicholas put on an old stethoscope last night and listened to his heart, then quips, "Yup I'm still alive." Some days it is a miracle that he is, LOL.

Aaron had a talent show the last day of school and at one point, he couldn't resist a little dancing to the music. This is a very rare moment captured forever :)

Thanks, guys. I had a great day. The Math Awards were amazingly fun. I gave out medals, trophies and brownies. I think the boys were so happy about the brownies, they didn't care less about the trophies. :)

Then we got home way too late to go out to eat after the ceremony, so we had waffles, bacon and eggs. Yeah, it was yummy. Great day.

Good Morning, All! Busy week so far...too much going on at work to have much fun at home :-( Hopefully things will be better next week.

I shipped out the last of the Hilton Head photos to the B&G and their families on Monday. I ended up with 696 photos from the Rehearsal, the Wedding, and the Reception. Takes forever to edit 696 photos, especially when you are too tired most nights to work on then so you end up doing it on the weekend! My biggest problem is that I like everything I shoot so I edit way too many and then let the B&G decide.

I am thinking about cutting back on my gear somewhat...I find my self using 3 or 4 lenses over and over and leaving the rest in the bag. Since I found the 7D it has become my main camera paired (of course) with the 17-55MM f/2.8 EF-S IS :-) The 5D gets the 15MM Fisheye, the 85MM f/1.2, and the 70-200MM MK II.

I am sending my Sigma 30MM in for calibration as it is front focusing. I have a feeling that it will excel on the 7D as a "street" lens when I get it fixed.

I love my 7D and 70-200 II set up, too.

I'm getting going today, it's hot in the house for some reason, but outside is so nice.

Jim, I have scaled my lenses back as well. I rarely use my 85mm lens but I have to have it for weddings/portraits. My 135 gets quite a bit of use & my 24-70 never leaves my 5DII.

Busy 2 days. Skip & I got my mother in law's house all packed up, boxed, bagged and ready for the truck to pick it all up tomorrow. We also filled the dumpster twice! I finished most of the cleaning today as well.... tomorrow night I will go finish the living room after the stuff is all hauled away. The realtor comes Friday for a walk through.... it is our son in law, Brian :)

I also had Jayda & Aaron today (only 90 minutes with Jayda). She is so cute and smiling a lot and starting to giggle. All 11 pounds of her.

Oh, how cute! Busy, busy. I'm still in a fog state, so I need to move it.

My throat still hurts so I may need to go to the doctor again.

Mo, It is funny, I have relegated my 5D to a "specialty" role at events I shoot. My 7D is my "go to" camera. I almost never use the 24-70MM f/2.8 and I will probably sell it soon. Ditto for the 100MM Macro and the 135MM (Brooke are you listening? :)). I'll keep the 17-40MM as it does well on the 5D. I'm also taking off my grips on the 7D & 5D. Just toss a couple of spare batteries in the bag instead. I can always "re-rig" if I have a big event. But, like Suzie, I am cutting back on weddings and the like...going to focus on personal photography for a while. I won't admit to slowing down but the diabetes hit this year has definitely set me back a tad bit :-(

I started slowing down a lot earlier than you two for the weddings and events. I mainly shoot what my boys do and that is enough. I had to process and print 120 pictures within 10 hours and then another 30 in 2. It was worth it to get the awards pictures for my kids, but tiring.

I use every lens I have except the 100-400. But I won't sell it. I still need.

Jim, can I borrow the 135 sometime? I want to try it out.

Absolutely! Let's pick a time to link up and you can try it out for a month or so...it hasn't been used in some time.

I am not slowing down at all..... I bet I shoot 500 photos a week at the minimum. With a new grandbaby on the horizon, there will be lots more to shoot soon :)
I never had grips and I cannot fathom photography without my 24-70mm lens on the 5DII :)
We are about to go out frog hunting.... me & the boys. Wish us luck!!
