Happy Father's Day! Just gave the new iPad to the father in the house and he noticed it didn't have any battery power. I didn't want to take it out of the box before today, so it's charging. He'll love it later.

If you'd given him a barbeque, he could be using it now. :p

Thanks, Suzie...great gift to Ken :) Elaine got me a Citizens ECO gold dress watch with leather band. We are enjoying a quiet day at home together :)

Happy Father's Day, Jim.

Steaks and tuna were amazing! Another successful dinner at our house with Patrick's family. Very fun. Ken hasn't touched his iPad yet except to FACETIME Brandon & Annie. Annie is adorable. We watched her for about 20 minutes just doing her thing around the apartment. She makes us so happy and yet, we wish we could be there with her all the time. Oh well. Still, the way we can connect these days is really wonderful.

Hope all you Dads had a memorable day.

Jim, can I borrow your 135 soon? I'm thinking of using the 7D with the 135 to do the video for the dance festival in July. I am getting a stabilizer - handheld for video while the kids are performing. It should be the best length with the 7D.

Let me look at the schedule. I think that's fine. And can you help with the photography July 19-21st?

Oooh, that sounds fun, Suzie & Jim. Wished I lived closer..............

Just swam for 2 hours with Nicholas; he had a little swimming lesson and he is doing pretty good. Until he sunk to the bottom once; I let him all the while yelling "Practice holding your breath!" :) Then I hauled him up & he didn't even cry. He was proud of himself for not drowning, lol.
He fell asleep on the 3 mile drive hiome so Mima will get a little peace & quiet :)

Nice. I need to get out. It was very nice today, just rainy. The temperatures are supposed to go way up this week until the weekend. Summer may just get here on time.

We are hanging around 100 here this week until the weekend when we will drop to 90 :) My sister is away on vacation until the end of the month so I have full use of the house/pool and i should as I am watching her grandkids all next week :)
Aaron has gone to the mountains with his dad until Friday afternoon & I already miss him. They have their fishing gear and will sleep in a tent. Aaron will make friends with a few kids & they will have a great time. I am very grateful my son plans for several summer activities with Aaron as his mom has never taken him anywhere or done anything with him outside of visiting her folks. On her days off she plays on 2 soccer teams and the kids have to sit on the sidelines. Everything is all about her wants. She did not even keep Nicholas one 24 hour period this past week & probably won't this week either. Aaron told me he doesn't care about going over to her house either because "she is crazy and she is very mean." Poor kids.

Kids that age are without guile and bluster. They say what they think.

I have an ex son-in-law who is exactly the same. Kathy's divorce (the Chicago family) was final yesterday. Elaine and I send her brother & sister out to be with her. Our grand-kids want nothing to do with their Dad because of the way he has treated their Mom.

And, the jerk has already moved in with his new "lady." This women is divorced and gave her two kids to their Dad...now what kind of Mom would walk away from her own kids? Their actions speaks volumes about the both of them!

As I said, what goes around . . . . Kids are not stupid.

I've got a headache. Can't shake it. But we're going to lunch in a minute. That should make me happier. :)

We're about to head out the door to have a late breakfast/early lunch with my best friend from high school. I expect to laugh till my sides hurt; that's the normal development from our get-togethers.

Funny how life changes. He's retired; I'm retired. We live about 2 1/2 hours apart. Even so, we only see each other every couple years. I suspect it's because our wives are just not as enthusiastic about reliving those old, embarrassing days of yore as we are.

In fairness, his current wife was not in the picture in those days, so all the reminiscing pretty much excludes her. Lois was around then, but not involved in the teenage stunts that now tickle us so much in hindsight.

We were not what you would call 'well-behaved' children.

Oh, no, Tom, you should be around some good old clean Mormon remembering sessions. We laugh a lot and it's all clean, but rather silly. We can actually remember all the lines to every Monty Python movie as well as Young Frankenstein and Princess Bride. When we get together with old friends, our kids think we're ancient and that was 30-40 years ago. Can't believe we are considered old. I still feel like a kid.

Tom, LEAVE the wives AT HOME and go laugh with your friend more often. The fun/laughter will make you healthier:)

Not much going on today. I have an appointment with my Insurance agent, then we are going swimming for couple of hours. Lazy summer days are fun for a week or so, then I get itchy.

I am in no shape to even get an image ready for competition, so I am doing the lazy week here. I'm so tired. Took all my energy to go to lunch and then to Staples. :) I got gas, though. $31 for a full tank of gas. Loving that. :)
