... We were not what you would call 'well-behaved' children.

No, Tom! Not you ;)

Old friends are like cherished treasures...so much fun to be with. My best HS era friend lives in Marietta, GA. We always go out to dinner together whenever we go home to visit family.

Such fun! Elaine bought summer pool passes to the county's big indoor pool yesterday. She plans to take Joe & Jules there at least once a week :-)

Suzie, Good Morning!

Are we on for Saturday morning? Mananas Cracker Barrel...what time works for you and Ken?

Also, in addition to the 135MM I will bring you my 100MM f/2.8 Macro. It does an awesome job, very sharp, and a little shorter focal length if you get in too close :-)

Ooo. Will you need either by July 21st? I was hoping you could come on the 21st to help me at Patriot. What time? Ken has a camping trip with Greg, so it's just me.

Suzie, you can keep both for as long as you need them :-) Both are "gathering dust" in the bottom of my storage shelf!

How about 0900 at the Cracker Barrel? Elaine and I both will there :-)

We can discuss the July 21st event over breakfast...as far as I know I can be there to help you :-)

Shall I fly in for the weekend? ^^^^ ;);)

Well all kids are gone until tomorrow. Poor colicky Jayda was so fussy today, actually screaming for 15-20 minutes, then would let out these giant burps, 2-3 in a row. Then she would be cute a few minutes and we would start all over again. Her mommy told me she ate meatloaf with onions & garlic last night so maybe that was it. Poor Nick covered his ears with his hands and was so happy when Grama Ina came to pick him up, LOL. Both kids will be back tomorrow but for the moment, I am going to scrapbook for a bit and enjoy the peace.

Meatloaf, onions and garlic, I'd be sick, too. But it would have been tasty.

Jim, sounds good. Boys are gone, so I am not busy. Nine, it is.

I just finished a 2 hour nap after going to lunch and WalMart with Greg. It's so hot here, and my body is tired from not sleeping at night. Hopefully, I can get the rest I need and get going better tomorrow. But it's going to be hot so I may have to do everything in the morning.

I just went to water Ryan's trees & feed his dogs. He has 4 dogs, 2 of them pit bulls. But they were so hot they didn't even want to play with me. Only Harvey who loves to bite the water stream out of the hose :) so he stayed cool and wet. I bought them some balls and later this evening, I will go throw them for them & I'll bet they perk up. But I roasted watering those trees!!!

I was outside when the sun went behind the houses. It wasn't bad at 7, but any earlier, and I would have been toast myself. The water just evaporates. I kept the sprinklers on for 1 and 1/2 hours today in the back and I will have to go out again in the morning and do that again. It's been so hot.

Welcome to my normal summer, Suzie. We are blazing hot from mid-June until Halloween, usually 98-106 degrees.

here is Harvey, Ryan's water loving pit bull. Soooo funny.

Mo, but...we get 90%+ humidity to go with 100+ degree temps = misery beyond belief! :(

Love the dog shots! :)

Dogs always have the best fun!

It is already hot this morning. I turned the water on for about an hour as I'm leaving for the airport in an hour or so. I washed the new car so my passengers won't hate me. It wasn't that dirty except for the kids putting their stuff everywhere, so I have to make sure all the little cubbies are empty of trash. I need to put water in the cars as it's so hot. I got visors for the front windshield for when I park. It's really that hot here. No one can keep their windows closed for fear the car will melt inside out. Rain is on it's way, a cold front, expecting low 90s. :)

I don't envy you the humidity. Although we are supposed to be a "dry" heat, we have had humidity 50-60% the past couple of summers. It sure does make it sticky and we just opt out into the pool as much as possible.
A few years ago I shot a wedding out at Loma Linda University (desert area). It was 106 that day with 100% humidity and thunderclouds overhead. We all wilted and we tried to get the wedding shots done in record time before everybody's hair was matted to their heads. It was ugly weather and the reason I don't live in the south.

Wow! 106 + 100% = danger zone! When I was in the military they would call that a "red flag" day and stop all outdoor activities. The south can be brutal in July & August...I know as Elaine, kids, and I lived in Hattiesburg, MS in 1972 and 1973. Hattiesburg is 90 miles due north of New Orleans.
