But they were so hot they didn't even want to play with me. Only Harvey who loves to bite the water stream out of the hose Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

SuzyView Cream of the Crop More info | Jun 20, 2012 20:49 | #6895 I was outside when the sun went behind the houses. It wasn't bad at 7, but any earlier, and I would have been toast myself. The water just evaporates. I kept the sprinklers on for 1 and 1/2 hours today in the back and I will have to go out again in the morning and do that again. It's been so hot. Mo, but...we get 90%+ humidity to go with 100+ degree temps = misery beyond belief! Jim -- I keep the Leica D-Lux 7 in the Glove Box just in case!

Although we are supposed to be a "dry" heat, we have had humidity 50-60% the past couple of summers. It sure does make it sticky and we just opt out into the pool as much as possible. A few years ago I shot a wedding out at Loma Linda University (desert area). It was 106 that day with 100% humidity and thunderclouds overhead. We all wilted and we tried to get the wedding shots done in record time before everybody's hair was matted to their heads. It was ugly weather and the reason I don't live in the south. Wow! 106 + 100% = danger zone! When I was in the military they would call that a "red flag" day and stop all outdoor activities. The south can be brutal in July & August...I know as Elaine, kids, and I lived in Hattiesburg, MS in 1972 and 1973. Hattiesburg is 90 miles due north of New Orleans.
