We're 'enjoying' some of the hottest weather so far this year, so the pool guy decides this is the best time to drain the pool and put in new water. Grrrr. I really would have enjoyed a dip last night after my 13-mile bike ride. I guess we'll be back up and running by Friday.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Had too many doctor's and dentist appointments today. Didn't get out to do much. But we did get Chinese food for lunch. Yummy. I sew tomorrow 2 costumes and I get to see how bad my thyroid is. Wish me luck.

Suzie, we just got back from Duck Chang's in Annadale...we had Peking Duck and Chow Mien! Yummy, yummy :)

Peter Chang's wife and Elaine are close friends. Peter is renown for his Peking Duck and ofter is called to the Chinese Embassy to serve duck dishes on special occasions. Tonight he served it sliced on thin pancakes with a plum sauce, scallion, and the crispy skin. He showed us how to fold and roll the pancakes to make a hand held treat :-)

Aaron & I built a crane today. We have a science project book we've been using. We also built a fire and put it out inside a glass bowl.

It was ever so yummy. We actually ordered the Chow Mien and I told Peter that I had never tried Duck. In a flash he was at our table with a 1/2 duck ready to go. He sat down with us and showed us how to make the pancake rolls...it was ever so delicious. We had way too much food so Elaine took the leftovers home for Joe and Jules to have for lunch today.

We would love to meet you and Ken there one night for a fun dinner. It is very easy to find and the food is exquisite :-) Peter has a special table set up at the front of the restaurant where he puts on a show by carving the duck. It is amazing to watch him do this...he is a master of his craft! Let's plan a date...wait a couple of weeks as Peter is closing for 10 days for a family trip to Florida :-)

And, don't forget we also need to go on day to the Chinese Seafood restaurant where I shot the two weddings earlier this year...you will love that place as well :-)

What a fun project! He is growing up so fast! Another neat project to build is an electric motor...all you need is copper wire, big nails, a couple of magnets, some metal strips, and a battery. You can find instructions on the Internet on how to build one. I did this with Jimmy and he was just amazed that the motor actually worked when we were done :-)

Morning, Jim! I have the cleaning ladies coming today, so I'm clearing all surfaces before they come.

Ken is so going to scout came with Greg next week while Jared & I get the house clean. He's not sure how he's going to get reception with his iPad at the camp, but I told him if he had any prayer of getting any reception, he may have to go with the Wi-Fi they have there.

Jim, I looked thru our Science project book & found the motor making project. I think we will try that one today. Lots of them are so simple they only take a few minutes so I am happier when we have a project that takes 1/2 hour or better. :)
I woke up with a sore throat & cough so baby Jayda did not come today. Naughty Nick went to his great grandparents Tuesday evening.... I had him Sun. Mon. & Tues. and that was more than enough. Such a scamp and so bratty lately. If we scold him he retorts, "Who do you think you are?" And proceeds to tell me I am not the boss of him but only his Grandmother. Such words out of a 3 year old!!! I guess he was cursing really bad words last week at Grandma Ina's and she smacked him for it (about time). I told him if he said those words at my house, I would scrape his teeth with a bar of soap so he didn't attempt it at my house. He knew I would do it. ;)

When my kids talk badly, I send them to the bathroom where that language belongs. That's what their baby sitter did for years and they hate it, so they don't say bad words, at least not at home. But my kids also can't talk to me like that, especially in front of their father. It's awful but I have to remind my kids they are Chinese and respecting their elders is a requirement if they want to live another day. :) But little boys are so cute, it's hard not to laugh when Nick talks that way. I sure get a smile on my face when you tell us these stories, Mo.
