Jon, do you have a tool to take off my broken filter? Greg dropped my camera bag with my camera and lens attached face down and cracked the filter, but since it's bent, it won't come off.

Somewhere. But as we're moving I can't lay my hands on anything without checking at least 3 places (spread out over 5 miles). I'm almost positive it isn't here, though. Tried pressing the front of the filter against a tire and twisting the lens?

Just a couple of miles - from a house to a condo, so we can walk away from it for 3 months in the summer and beat the heat.

Ah, makes sense to downsize a bit after retirement. I have too big of a family to do that, tho.....

Suzie, you need a filter wrench...penn camera should carry them.

Elaine had a great week. We are off to do a little shopping.

We got home Friday late, but I haven't had a minutes to look at the pictures I took or come here. So much to do. Sorry. There has been a lot going on.

Glad to hear it, Jim. Jon, that is really great that you guys are downsizing. We are at the opposite time in our lives. Greg just got notice that he was accepted into Thomas Jefferson, and you know what that means, I'll be busy the next 4 years with the boys. So, for the next 4 years, having a big house will be a definite advantage having kids over a lot and entertaining all the clubs and things they are involved with. Also, the house is looking good. The foundation was poured last week and we're waiting to see what it will be after they take everything away and we can actually get to see where the 3-car detached garage will go. It's a huge thing, so lots to decide on.

Jim, I hope you can get away to see the blossoms later this week or next. Sounds like only a few blossoms are out due to the cold weather we're having. I may decide to run up on Friday morning instead of tomorrow. It's just too cold for me to stay all day. I have the carpool on Monday evening as well.

I will order the wrench tomorrow. It's not coming off.

Talk to you all later. Happy Easter!

Which do you recommend, Jon? It's the filter on my 24-70 a 77mm.

I might go with either the 67-82 mm set from Camera Hunter or the 62-77mm set from Adorama. This guy (external link) might be the ultimate solution if you think it might happen again, but the other two are more general solutions. On the whole, I'd go with the 67-82 mm one as it won't beat its extreme on a 77 mm filter.

I think I'll order it, Jon. The filter is completely cracked with pieces all over the place. I feel bad. I hope my 24-70 is okay.

I agree with Jon. I used a 77MM filter wrench to separate a UV filter and my polarizing filter. I learned from that drill not to stack filters :-) I looked over the weekend and I can't find it anywhere? I put it away in a (too) safe place :-(

Jim, no worries, I already ordered the one Jon recommended. Free on Friday to see the blossoms, or is next week better?

Well today is court day for Ryan to get more time with Aaron. Not looking forward to it at all. :(

What do you mean? Doesn't Aaron live with him? Oh, so sorry, Mo.

BTW, the filter is really stuck. Won't come off. I probably am not forcing it enough, but I'm scared to.

They each have 1 week custody time. Looks like it is going to remain that way because the jerk judge is too lazy to llok through all the documents and use his brain.
