FWIW,

I don't see the 7D as anything special without it's video capabilities.

My 1D MKIIn had most if not all the still capture capabilities of the 7D three years ago...my assessment.

And the APC sensor video capabilities(7D)are questionable among videographers....check the forums.

I'm looking for a 5D MK whatever that has an XLR or two input like my XH A1 camera...for sound.

Also, my future 5D MK II, III or whatever has to have the ability to record for 30 minutes or more at a time.

Once that occurs, my XH A1 will be for sale...

Hope you are all doing well.

:)

Interesting view. The new Lamborghini also not much better than my Mazda 3 except it can go faster. Mine can sit 5 people, and Lambo can only sit 2, so, my Mazda 3 is better.

I'd take a 7D or 5DMKII over an A1 any day. But then again, it's preference. ;)

MSRP on the 1DIIn was $4000, too.

It's amazing because I can get one with those features brand new for $1699.

Hyena?

I wouldn't volunteer your services on any kind of zoological photography expedition.

It's a racoon.

But I agree, the 7D can't do anything the 1D Mark III can't do as well.
Except some AF related things, like spot and zone AF.
And control flashes with the internal flash.
And display a dual axis level in the display.
And in the viewfinder.
And it has a smarter viewfinder, where things can be turned on or off as you like.
And it has a better monitor.
And it has video.
And it has live view with autofocus and a significantly better handling.
And it has higher ISO setting.
And it has quick control.
And it has a better power switch.
And it has 18 megapixels.
And it has some other minor things, but apart from that, it can't do anything the 1D Mark III can't do as well. Not even cost half as much.
